Required Courses for the Major

HIST 200-level course in non-US history

HIST 208 History of the United States from the Colonial Era to Reconstruction or HIST 209 History of the United States from Reconstruction 聽

HIST 396 The Historian鈥檚 Craft

HIST 490 History Seminar or HIST 495 Honors Thesis

Nine Major Courses (four required, five electives*) - at least three of the five electives must be a 300-level or higher class

*Students may choose to take one of the classes in the approved list below as one of their five HIST electives, but only one will count towards their history major.
